At the international congress (11th Annual International Microsymposium on Diabetes, which is part of the 13th Annual International Conference on Health & Medical Sciences; https://www.atiner.gr/diabetes), organized by the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER), Dr. Marko Antonijević presented the results of research conducted within the GraSP_MAT project.
During the presentation titled “Nature’s Pharmacy: Grape Skin Polyphenols Target Diabetic Wounds,” Dr. Antonijević spoke about the potential of grape skin polyphenols in the treatment of diabetic wounds. The research includes examining the mechanisms by which bioactive compounds from indigenous grape varieties accelerate the healing of chronic wounds.
The presentation attracted the attention of conference participants and initiated significant discussion about the role of natural products and circular economy in modern medicine.
