Dr. Edina Avdović, the lead researcher of the GraSP_MAT project, recently visited the Institute of Chemistry at the University of Ljubljana. During the visit, Dr. Avdović presented the project’s results to date to colleagues Dr. Janez Konc and Dr. Dušanka Janežič, experts in the field of molecular docking. The discussion focused on the possibility of integrating in-house molecular docking programs, developed in the laboratories of the Chemistry Institute, into our research, with a special emphasis on analyzing proteins responsible for anti-inflammatory activity.
This collaboration is expected to significantly enhance our capacity to analyze interactions between bioactive molecules and target proteins, further strengthening the scientific foundations of the GraSP_MAT project. Dr. Avdović and her team believe that such international cooperation will not only contribute to the successful achievement of project goals but also open new research directions that involve combining experimental and computational methods.
In addition to presenting the results, concrete steps were agreed upon for continued collaboration, including joint publications and exchange of scientific techniques between laboratories, highlighting the importance of connecting various scientific institutions in the region and beyond. GraSP_MAT continues to contribute to the internationalization of scientific research work and the advancement of innovative approaches in science.
