The GraSP_MAT project introduces and tests a new solution for the therapy of chronic wounds: antioxidant and antimicrobial hydrogels with controlled release of bioactive compounds from grape skin extract, which will promote rapid wound healing. GraSP_MAT will represent a safer alternative in the management of chronic wounds compared to available treatment strategies and propose a new solution for the circular economy to valorize grape skins that remain as waste from the wine industry. Implementation of this project will commence in January 2024.
