We are pleased to share our publication in the prestigious journal LWT – Food Science and Technology (M21, IF=6), once again confirming the quality and significance of domestic science on the international scene.
The scientific publication titled “Ultrasound-assisted extraction of bioactive phenolics from Marselan and Shiraz grape skins: A step toward circular economy in food and pharmaceutical industry” focuses on the application of ultrasound extraction of phenolic compounds from Marselan and Shiraz grape skins grown in Šumadija — with the aim of transforming this by-product of the wine industry into high-value components for use in pharmaceutical and food industries.
Through this research, we contribute to the development of circular economy and promotion of green chemistry, demonstrating how synergy between industry and scientific research institutions can lead to innovative and sustainable solutions.
We owe great gratitude to the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, which recognized the importance of this topic and supported the research through the Promis 2023 and Proof of Concept programs.
